It has the effects of anti-diuresis, contraction of small arteries and capillaries to increase blood pressure, hemostasis, and excitement of colon and bladder smooth muscles.
For diabetes insipidus, hemostasis during acute bleeding from esophageal varices, surgical shock, intestinal paralysis, bladder paralysis, and diagnosis of central diabetes insipidus.
